Mr. William “Rex” Phillips, age 75, of Millers Creek, passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Millers Creek United Methodist Church with Rev. Bradley Lisk officiating. Inurnment will be in Scenic Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 9:45 AM - 10:45 AM prior to the service at the church.
Rex was born June 12, 1949, in Wilkes County to Andrew Lawrence and Annie Lois Taylor Phillips. He was a member of Millers Creek United Methodist Church. Rex retired after a career spanning four decades with Lowes Companies. His favorite pastimes included golfing with his buddies, working in his yard, and spending time with his best friend and wife Mary, children, and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years; Mary Wingler Phillips of the home, son; Jonathan Drew Phillips and wife Tracey of Atlanta, GA, daughter; Holly Phillips Toombs and husband Blair of Richmond, VA, grandchildren; Quinn Toombs and Eliza Toombs of Richmond, VA, sister; Martha Philpot and husband Jim of Asheboro, NC and brother; Roy Phillips and wife Irene of Lenoir, NC.
