Mrs. Rosetta Ruby Steele Kilby, age 89 of Moravian Falls passed away Thursday, June 6, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, June 10, 2024 at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Rev. Jamie McGuire and Mr. Steven Kilby officiating. Burial will be in Scenic Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the service at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.
Rosetta was born February 15, 1935, in Wilkes County to Walter and Annie Naomi Minton Steele.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years; Calvin Wade Kilby, and a daughter; Rebecca Jayne Kilby, a grandson; Rev. Steven Allen Carson, a son-in-law; Leslie William Foster and step-father; Tallie Eugene Reynolds.
She is survived by a daughter; Donna Kilby Foster Sharpe and husband Sam of Barnardsville, a son; Douglas Wade Kilby and wife Kathy of North Wilkesboro, seven grandchildren; Steven Douglas Kilby and wife Bethany of Wilkesboro, David Wade Kilby and wife Amanda of Charleston, SC, Amanda Foster Carson of Taylorsville, Clay Wesley Taylor and wife Cynthia of Moravian Falls, Heather Dawn Taylor and fiance’; Kris Lee of Niagara Falls, NY, six great grandchildren; Dylan Blake Pearson of Hickory, Jacob Carson and Joshua Carson of Taylorsville, Kloee Kilby of Wilkesboro, Cadie Kilby and Colton Kilby of Charleston, SC.
