Manasa Saumi Tuituku was born on 12 March 1960 in the Republic of the Fiji Islands to Jone Tuituku Uenavanua and Nanise Nacamavuto, who preceded him in death. Manasa, age 64 of Moravian Falls passed away at his home and entered into rest on 14 December 2024. He graduated from Queen Victoria School in 1978 and studied science at the University of the South Pacific before joining Youth With A Mission from 1980 – 1984.
Manasa met his wife, Christina O’Brien Tuituku, in Honolulu, Hi, where they married in 1984. Their two children, Naomi “Bui” Nanise and Daniel Joseph O’Brien Tuituku were born there. In 1998, he moved his family to Albemarle, NC, and relocated again in 2015 to Moravian Falls, NC. Manasa, who faithfully demonstrated an excellent work ethic, was employed as a construction laborer.
Manasa epitomized faithfulness and selflessness. As husband and father, he was loyal, steadfast, trustworthy, and devoted. When he met you, he became your faithful friend. He was always present; he would not go absent. With you, he visited, laughed, labored, worshiped, and prayed. He was a man clothed with Christ. He was joyful, peaceful, patient, kind, good, gentle, and ever so loving. When he wasn’t actively with family or friends, he was bound up with his other companions, books, and plenty of them! Mainly, though, he was bound up in God’s Love and bound by His Word. This made him passionate about learning and teaching! Although his employment was blue-collar, his vocation was serving and ministering to every person anywhere.
Manasa is survived by his father’s brother Uncle Michael Bogitini; elder sister Mrs. Lavenia Draunibaka; 1st cousin & QVS school mate, Emoni Lebaivalu; younger brother Isikeli Maravu; younger sister Mrs. Luisa Emanuel; and youngest sister Mrs. Una Nayagodamu.
