Mrs. Ann Elledge Dotson, age 88 of Wilkesboro passed away Monday, May 13, 2024, at her home.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Rev. Tim Pruitt officiating. Entombment will be in Scenic Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Friday evening at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.
Ann was born September 22, 1935, in Wilkes County to Hamp and Jane Harrold Elledge. She was honored at the Wilkes Regional Medical Center Employee Recognition Celebration for 60 years of service to the hospital in Wilkes. She worked in several departments while there including dietary, nursing, payroll, emergency room, insurance and billing. Her final ten years working were with Patient Financial Services. She was a member of Journey of Grace Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Samuel William “Bill” Dotson, Jr., a sister; Zola Elledge Glass, three brothers; Beecher Elledge, Herbert (H.E.) Elledge and Carl Elledge.
She is survived by a daughter; Diane Dotson Shumate of Monroe, a son; Samuel William Dotson III (Sam) and wife Lisa of Hays, five grandchildren; Jordan Shumate, Ben Shumate, Kara Dotson Gourley, Kristan Dotson Phipps, Wes Shumate, eleven great grandchildren; Elijah Gourley, Jackson, Gourley, Landon Shumate, Logan Shumate, Cole Shumate, Clyde Shumate, Lindsay Shumate, Easton Phipps, Chipper Shumate, Ezekiel Phipps and Elliott Shumate a sister; Ruth Elledge Anderson of North Wilkesboro, three brothers; Bryce Elledge of China Grove, Van Elledge and wife Jean of Hickory and Dewey Elledge of Hays, two sisters-in-law; Katherine Elledge, Judy Elledge and a brother-in-law; Ken Glass.
